Research and Advanced Studies

IMEM is promoting a multidisciplinary research environment. The research is based around matters relating to the cultures of the Middle East, integration, diversity and intercultural questions. IMEM is also researching the course of action and mechanisms in a society where diversity is reflected in the national self-image and where migration is an undeniable part of the Swedish cultural heritage.

"Further Training"

IMEM as an arena for further education is arranging training for those interested in the subject matter, with a focus on the cultures and diversity of the Middle East. Our focus is also to broaden/increase the knowledge through training for “new” Swedish people that belong to these minorities, with the aim to gain understanding and knowledge about Swedish society, as well as developing methods for dialogue to increase the understanding between different groups in society.
